Durham Region Announces Holiday Hours for Waste Management Facilities

A photo of my Filofax Original Nude in personal size for my Instagram page. Planning, in order to be productive, is very important to me and I find that it would be important for most professionals to use a similar system in order to free up headspace, to be more calm and less busy.

The Regional Municipality of Durham is adjusting the operational hours of its Waste Management Facilities and the Household Special Waste Depot in Brock, Scugog, Oshawa, and Clarington for the holiday season. Facilities will be closed from December 23 to December 27, with limited open hours on December 28 to December 30. Normal operations will resume on January 2. The Waste Management Centre in Whitby also has a modified schedule, particularly for the distribution of blue boxes and green bins. Read more here.

Ontario Behind on 2025 Accessibility Goals, New Report Reveals

A new report indicates that Ontario is unlikely to meet its 2025 goal for accessibility for people with disabilities under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. The report describes Ontario's current state as a "crisis" in terms of accessibility and suggests forming a crisis committee chaired by Premier Doug Ford. It also recommends creating a new agency to enforce accessibility standards within the government. Read report here.

DRPS Intensifies Road Safety Efforts in Fourth Week of Festive RIDE Program

he Durham Regional Police Service's fourth week of the 2023 Festive RIDE program marked a notable increase in enforcement activities, with 1,991 vehicles stopped and 16 drivers charged with impaired driving. The initiative also included a focus on commercial vehicle operators, leading to the removal of one operator from the road. Increased roadside breath tests, license suspensions, and various charges highlighted the program's effectiveness in promoting road safety. Read more.

RCMP Arrests Five Youths in Crackdown on Internet-Fueled Terrorism

These arrests, encompassing direct charges and actions related to Terrorism Offence Peace Bonds, highlight the challenges posed by online radicalization and the need for enhanced preventive measures. Jacob Oster Clinches OHL Goaltender of the Week with Stellar Performances

Jacob Oster has been named the OHL's Goaltender of the Week after his remarkable performances in three games, where he saw over 70 shots. He played a crucial role in his team's victories, including a 6-2 win against the Mississauga Steelheads and a 7-3 win in the rematch. Oster also contributed to a 5-1 win against the Petes, ending the week with a 3-0 record, a 2.00 goals against average, and a .915 save percentage.
